Drop off & Collection Times

Your pet(s) will only be accepted or released during normal business hours. Drop off and collection will be between:

Closed Christmas Day

Exceptions will only be made for emergencies. For example, people going into Hospital, Floods/Fire in the home or other crises.

For delays on the road, trains, flights or other public transport. We do ask that you keep us updated and we will do what we can to help.

We are not able to let people in to pick up their pet(s) outside our opening hours as this is one of the rules of our licence.

Payments

All fees are payable either in advance or prior to departure. Payment can be made by the following options:

Cash or Debit/Credit card, or by cheque made payable to Thrift End Farm kennels & Pets.

We are also able to take payments over the telephone by Debit or Credit Card.

Cancellations

Clients who cancel bookings will have a choice of either having their money back minus a £25.00 admin fee or we can transfer the deposit onto another holiday at a later date. No shows will be charged the full cost of the stay and could also be refused other bookings if they have not informed us that they are not coming, with a justifiable reason.

Medical Needs

If your pet has to go to the veterinarian whilst staying with us the cost of this will be added to your final bill at the end of your pet(s) stay with us. We will try and use your own vets if this is possible. Otherwise, we will go to Elizabeth Smith. A report of treatment given to your pet whilst at the vets will be given to you at the end of your pet(s) stay with us.

Prices

Prices are dependent on the size and breed of your dog(s) and are available upon request. Also, depending on the number of pets that you have dog(s) / cat(s). The day of arrival and departure are included when calculating the total cost. Payment in full for booking period are payable in the event of early collection. All fees are charged for by the day. Our charge rates may increase without notice which may alter the price quoted.

Deposits

Deposit of 50% will be charged per booking. If your holiday is five days or less we ask for full payment upfront.

Deposits relate to each individual booking.

Bookings will not be accepted unless deposits are paid in advance.

By making a booking with us, you confirm that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by our Terms & Conditions. Once you have made a booking with us you (or someone authorised to represent you) agree to be bound by the Terms & Conditions of service.

You agree to the following:

To supply full details of any medication or treatment your pet(s) are receiving.

To allow your vet to divulge any information about your pet(s) medical history to us.

That we may contact our own vet if we think that treatment is required for your pet(s).

That you will be liable for any Veterinary or medical cost incurred during your pet(s) stay with us.

That you will be liable for any damage or injury caused by your pet(s) to property, equipment or persons.

To inform us of any aggressive or anti-social tendencies your pet(s) may exhibit.

That you will not hold us responsible for, or ask us to replace or compensate for lost articles or damaged items.

Medication

Any medication will be administered at your request. There will be a charge for any tablets (except YuMOVE), creams e.g. eye drops, ear drops of £1.00 per day and for injections a charge of £2.00 per day. These costs will be added to your final bill.

We will not accept responsibility for any medication that your pet(s) refuse to take due to the unpredictability of the animal’s behaviour. We do not accept any liability for injury to your pet(s) except where such injury arises directly from our negligence. We ask that you inform us on arrival of any changes to your pet(s) health or behaviour needs.

Toys

Please feel free to bring toy(s) for your pet(s). However, please don’t bring anything that is of sentimental value as toy(s) may get lost or damaged by your pet(s) during their stay. We cannot be held responsible for lost articles and won’t replace or compensate for this.

Bedding

We supply bedding unless you choose to bring something from home. This is the same as with the toy(s). We cannot be held responsible for damaged bedding if your pet(s) should choose to destroy it whilst staying at the kennels.

Abandoned Animals

Any animals that are not collected within 7 days of the stated departure date without any notification / communication of delays will be deemed to have been abandoned. We reserve the right to rehome the animal or move to rehoming centre.

Thrift End Farm Kennels reserve the right to refuse entry to any animal showing signs of sickness, ill health, showing aggression to staff or other animals in our care. And anyone bringing any animals without injection paperwork or documents will not be admitted into the kennels.

Before Departure

When collecting your pet(s) after a stay it is your responsibility to check that your pet(s) are in good health and condition. We will not accept any claim for injury or illness that is not brought to our attention before you leave or within 24 hours of leaving the kennels.

Once you have taken your pet and left our premises you will be deemed to have been satisfied with the service given and with the health and condition of your pet(s) unless you have stated otherwise before departure.

Your pet(s) will have been given a health check before you collect them and any issues will be brought to your attention before they leave our premises. You will receive a health check form with the concern and when it started which will be signed and dated so as to ensure you can show your vets if the pet(s) has not already been taken by the kennels.

Also, please take a few minutes to check that your pet(s) go home with all that they came with like toys, bedding, medication, food etc.
